Sun dog
It appears the iPhone camera lens is too wide to capture the real colors in a sun dog. The bright light just to the right of the power pole had a nice rainbow color that is not visible in this picture, which is disappointing.

This Red Fox was hit on Federal Way closer to downtown Boise. There are some open spaces with trees to the west of this location and the Ridenbaugh Canal is on the east side of Federal Way. This fox must have been moving between these areas finding food and water until this unfortunate tragedy. We see foxes near a big open field near the New York canal sometimes, and they are also often seen by people who live and recreate in the Boise foothills.
